DESCRIPTION:This is an informational / registration meeting for those interested in the Backpacking 101 Series “Take-A-Hike Overnight”. This group will meet once a month for a day hike and educational opportunity. All day hikes will take place utilizing trails within Cook Forest State Park and Clear Creak State Park areas. Participants will learn basic skills to plan\, pack and stay overnight on the trails. Topics to be presented include but not limited to; physical fitness\, planning\, navigation\, gear selection\, safety\, first aid\, and food preparation.
