SUMMARY:Shadows of History: A Visual Exploration of Germany's Nazi Past
DESCRIPTION:The presentation will be “Shadows of History: A Visual Exploration of Germany’s Nazi Past” presented by Dr. Joe Harmon\, Redbank Valley High School History Department Teacher for 21 years. He is also a Co-Advisor\, National Honor Society\, and Youth Council Advisor. Dr. Harmon resides in Redbank Valley with his wife and children. \nDr. Harmon serves as a Teacher Ambassador for the National WWII Museum in New Orleans and is a member of Echoes & Reflections Holocaust Education’s Teacher Advisory Group. During his career\, Dr. Harmon has been named the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh’s Teacher of the Year and was named Pennsylvania History Teacher of the Year. Most recently\, he was selected by the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh as one of ten “Righteous Among the Neighbors” for his work with Holocaust education. \nDr. Harmon travelled to Germany in 2012 and 2024 as a guest of the National WWII Museum and Goethe Institute. His journey included visiting Munich and Berlin\, exploring WWII sites significant to the Holocaust and National Socialism.\nJoin us to hear his story and learn about this crucial chapter of history. \nAdmission is FREE. Everyone is invited. The November program is the final program for 2025. Our Education Series will begin again in winter – early spring 2026\, so watch our website and facebook and local newspapers for announcements.
