Victorian Christmas Celebration
Event description
Pre-Parade Activities (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM): Features automated train rides around downtown, holiday food vendors, sweet treats, face painting, and kids’ “Reindeer Games”.
Crafts & Exhibits: Children’s hands-on crafts will be held under big tents. The Jefferson County History Center will host a special holiday model train display, and the Brookville Community Band will play live seasonal tunes.
Grand Parade & Tree Lighting (7:00 PM): The annual evening parade travels down Main Street, culminating in the official arrival of Santa Claus and the lighting of the community Christmas tree.
Decorating Contests: Voting officially opens for both the Main Street Business Window Decorating Contest and the Residential House Decorating Contest. Voting runs through Christmas Eve.
- A Brookville Candlelight Christmas: Coinciding with Small Business Saturday, downtown shops along the historic 90-acre Victorian district will open for holiday shopping with a nostalgic, turn-of-the-century flair.
- Trees in the Square: Stroll past the community Christmas tree display in the town square. For 2026, local groups have decorated individual trees themed after “Christmas through the decades”.
- Free Holiday Movie (5:30 PM): Families can head to the local Drive-In theater for a free community screening of a holiday classic.
- Main Street Stroll: The weekend rounds out with open voting for the window displays, local dining specials, and a chance to view the decorated town square under the winter lights.
