Throughout Jefferson County, the Area Agency on Aging operates 4 Older American Social Centers that are open 5 days a week. The centers offer the senior citizens of Jefferson County a place to gather and enjoy themselves. Each of the centers offer lunch daily as well as a wide range of activities and events.

Genealogy workers convene weekly to aid those exploring family history. Volunteers are sought for tasks like phone support, email assistance, copying, scanning obituaries, and research. The organization hosts special events like Christmas open houses and downtown tours, inviting the public to engage in Punxsutawney history. Attend or volunteer for these events. Programs and classes, such as the ongoing “Early Settlers” series, focus on historical eras. Join to help with crafts or transportation logistics, bringing in children as well. Scripture Rocks Heritage Park

Scripture Rocks Park is a free public-access site, open from dawn to dusk from April to October. It consists of 1.5 miles of gravel-covered pathways, winding through more than 60 boulders carved with the philosophy and tribulations of Douglas Stahlman in the early 1900s. The park is located on Route 28; 1/8 mile south of I-80 exit 81.
