Welcome to Whitetail Wilds! We are Jeff and Carrie Burkett and we have lived in the Cooks Forest area for the past 27 years. We love this area and are excited to share our beautiful property with you! This year we have created, what we hope, is a beautiful space for those looking for a relaxing getaway. We hope you make wonderful memories at our guest house and enjoy your stay!
Step back into the elegance of the Victorian era at Punxsutawney’s first and oldest mansion. Constructed beginning in 1868, the Winslow House has been lovingly restored by your hosts, Tim and Laurie Spence, who received their first guests in February 2007. In 2022 Winslow House Bed and Breakfast opened full time to receive discerning guests who appreciate the style and elegance of an earlier era.
The Wolf Run Trail runs 4.2 miles beginning just north of Dubois, ending 3 miles south of Brockway onto State Route 219. Owned by Headwaters Charitable Trust and maintained by Washington Township, this trail is a major section of a proposed trail extending from the Clarion-Little Toby Brockway trailhead to the city of DuBois.

At Laska’s, you’ll find a variety of specialty pizzas, as well as strombolis and calzones. Their famous regulars are always a hit, and you can add extra toppings if you’d like. Gluten-free crust is also available, and they offer salads and boneless wings. Locals always recommend Laska’s!
Established in 1995 Laurel Mountian Vineyard opened in Falls Creek, PA. The Winery and Gift Shop are in a renovated barn circa 1900. It’s an easy-to-findd location off Route 219 between Dubois and Brockway.
Pronounced “Lay-la Jo”, Leila Jo’s is not just a bakery but they have also have take out pizza.
This location is just minutes away with easy access from I-80 at both Brookville-78/Hazen-81 exits, as well as Rts 322, 36, and 28. It is centrally located and approximately 20 minutes from Brockway, Clarion (ALF & PennWest University), Clear Creek, Cook Forest, DuBois (DuBois Regional Airport), New Bethlehem, and Punxsutawney Phil (in February). The Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital is only 3.9 miles away, and the CoolSpring Power Museum is nearby.
