The store was founded in the early 1990s in response to the growing number of visitors coming to the community for the February 2 Groundhog Day celebration and at other times of the year. Visit the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center to learn about the science and folklore of weather. The interactive exhibits provide hands-on learning opportunities for all ages to explore. The center is located in the former post office building, which has beautiful architectural details and a treasured past. It’s also home to the Meteorologist Hall of Fame. Operating hours are 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and days vary by season.
